Sing praises to God, sing praises; sing praises to our King, sing praises. Psalm 47:6

What a wonderful command the Lord gives us. We are not only commanded to sing praises to Him, but are also commanded to "Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost." Matthew 28:19
I was raised in a home with a wonderful Christian mother who got me involved in a church at an early age. As a teenager I accepted Jesus as my personal Savior. I was very active in youth choir and the youth group at my church.
When I was in the tenth grade, my parents decided to move to another town and my priorites got mixed up as I too got wrapped up in everything but the Lord. As a result, I drifted further and further from the Lord and what I knew was right.
It wasn't until I was about 27 years old that I felt the overwhelming desire to really know who Jesus was. I felt like I knew God, but I felt Jesus was this stranger ... someone who was so far away.

The Lord had a plan to grasp my attention, but in order to do so, He had to take me away from any distractions and comforts in the United States.
He moved my husband, Jim, my son, Nick, and I all the way to Okinawa, Japan!
With everything out of my way and the right people in Japan to guide me, the Lord began His mighty work. When we first moved to Japan, we were staying in a hotel and a very strong Christian woman witnessed to me and I told her that I was saved when I was younger, but I felt something was missing in my life.
She took me "under her wing" and discipled me and taught me that it is one thing to know about Jesus, but it is far greater to know Jesus. Praise the Lord for His faithful servants! The Lord put a fire in my heart for Him ... He made me realize and want to spread the news of His gifts that He so abundantly pours out to His children.

My "hunger" to know Him intimately was so exciting! I had no idea what discipleship was all about.
The Lord has shown me in so many ways of His plan for my life as a Christian witness through music. He has given me a deep desire to spread His Word through song and has made it possible for me to share the love He so abundantly gives with others.
As I was growing up, my mother encouraged me to sing. She always told me that if God gave me a gift, I should use it for His purpose. Of course, I always thought I knew more than she, so I rebelled and sang only when and where I wanted to.
As I reflect back on my past, I praise the Lord for all the lessons He taught me through His gift of music. I am reminded that when we drift away from Him, He is always there to welcome us with open arms, and we have a "super-charged" sense of power from the Holy Spirit!
I praise Him for all the trials I have gone through and the closer, stronger relationship I have with Him both during and after those trials.
The Lord has prepared me for His service and I sing because I love Him ... because He created me in His image, to praise His name ... I am only His instrument ... He is the player ...
